IU is a famous South Korean singer and songwriter. She is also an actress and record producer, who is pursuing an active career since 2008.
Her real name is Lee Ji-eun and she was born on May 16, 1993. She uses IU as her stage name, and she released her first professional work when she was 15 years old. Kakao Entertainment, which used to be known as LOEN Entertainment in those times, signed her as a trainee in 2007. A year later, she released her debut extended play Lost and Found in 2008. These achievements helped her to gain an amazing reputation in her country and people started to call her Korea’s little sister. She released her third album Modern Times in 2013 and the album ranked number 2 on the 25 Greatest K-Pop Albums of 2010.
