Cardi B was born on October 11, 1992 in America. Cardi B worked in a delicatessen in Tribeca in her youth. She was fired and her manager suggested that she apply to be a stripper at the strip club across the street. Cardi B said that being a stripper was positive in many ways for her life: “It saved me from a lot of things. I went back to school when I started doing stripping.” She stated that she was a stripper after being fired from her mother’s home to escape poverty and domestic violence at that time, and that striptease was the only way to earn enough money to escape this situation and get an education. While doing a striptease, Cardi B lied to her mother saying that she made money by babysitting. In 2013, she started earning ads for her videos on social media, Vine and Instagram.

She became famous on the Internet after her many posts and videos became popular on Vine and Instagram. She acted regularly in the VH1 reality television series Love & Hip Hop: New York from 2015 to 2017. Before signing with the Atlantic Records label in early 2017, she was on Gangsta Bitch Music, Vol. 1 and Vol. She released two mixtapes, 2 of them.

Her first studio album Invasion of Privacy (2018) debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart, broke many music records, was awarded platinum certification three times by the RIAA, and was named the best female rap album of the 2010s by Billboard. The critically acclaimed album won a Grammy Award for Best Rap Album, the only woman to win Cardi B as a solo artist, and the first female rapper to be nominated for the Album of the Year in 15 years. Recognized by Forbes as one of the most influential female rappers of all time, Cardi B is widely known for her aggressive flow and sincere words in the media. She was the highest certified female rapper of all time in the RIAA’s Digital Singles rankings and was also among the ten highest certified female artists.

In 2018, Time magazine included her on the list of the 100 most influential people in the world, and Billboard awarded her the Woman of the Year award in 2020.
