Tiffani Thiessen was born on January 23, 1974 in the USA. She is the daughter of a housewife, Robyn (née Ernest), and park designer and landscape architect Frank Thiessen. She said she saw his brother Todd as one of his most important inspirational sources, and his mother and grandmother as role models. She attended Cubberley Primary School and Marshall Middle School in Long Beach. In 1992, Thiessen graduated from the Valley Professional High School in Studio City, Los Angeles with first place.
Thiessen participated in beauty pageants as a child and was crowned Miss Junior America in 1987. The following year it was featured on the cover of Teen magazine and won the magazine’s song “Great Model Search”. In 1989, she was named Cover Girl magazine’s “Model of the Year” and got her first role as Kelly Kapowski in NBC’s television sitcom Saved by the Bell, which starred until its ending in 1993. The success of the show accelerated her career, and Thiessen was nominated for the Young Artist Award for Best Young Actress in 1990 and Best Young Actress in the Off-Primetime Series in 1992 and 1993. At the same time, she appeared as a guest actor in TV series such as Thiessen and Married.
In early 1992, Thiessen started dating Brian Austin Green. They started living together in July 1994, separated the following year. From 2001 to the spring of 2003, she was engaged to actor Richard Ruccolo, whom she met during Two Guys and a Girl work. She married actor Brady Smith on July 9, 2005, and they have two children.
