Isla Fisher was born on February 3, 1976 to Elspeth Reid and Brian Fisher, in Muscat, Oman. His father worked as a banker at the United Nations in Oman at that time. As a child, Fisher and his family moved to Bathgate in Scotland when he was 6 years old, then to Perth, western Australia. He has four siblings. While his mother and siblings lived in Athens, Greece, his father spent his time between Frankfurt, Germany and Nicaragua. She attended Swanbourne Elementary School and Methodist Ladies College. She starred in school productions such as Little Shop of Horrors. At the age of 21, he went to L’École Internationale de Theater Jacques Lecoq in Paris where he studied clown, pantomime and commedia dell’arte.
Fisher appeared in commercials for the first time on Australian television when she was 9 years old, and made her professional acting career in 1993 as a guest actress on children’s television shows Bay City and Paradise Beach. Between 1994 and 1997, she played the role of Shannon Reed, a bisexual insecure young woman who developed anorexia on the Australian drama Home and Away. He moved to Hollywood in 2002 and portrayed the love of Shaggy Rogers, who was cowardly and lazy, in the movie Scooby-Doo. Although Scooby-Doo received negative reviews, the film was a commercial success, grossing $ 275.7 million worldwide.
Fisher met British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen at a party in Sydney in 2002. The two got engaged in 2004 and got married on March 15, 2010 at a Jewish ceremony in Paris, France. The couple has three children born in 2007, 2010 and 2015. The family now lives in London and Los Angeles.
